Volunteer Opportunities

Want to find a meaningful volunteer activity? In our community, there are several opportunities for volunteers, including helping people experiencing homelessness, mentoring or tutoring students, and supporting seniors.

We hope you would consider volunteering!

  • Big Sunday
    Big Sunday connects people through helping. We believe that we’re all in this together and that absolutely everybody has some way that they can help someone else. Big Sunday offers hundreds of events and all kinds of service projects throughout the year. For more information, call 323-549-9944.
  • L.A. Family Housing
    Volunteer for a variety of safe, socially distanced holiday opportunities to bring food, fun and cheer to people transitioning out of homelessness. For more information, call 818-795-3382.
  • Hollywood Food Coalition
    Volunteers are needed to cook, serve and help share food every day. Also, volunteers can make lunch bags from home to donate. For more information, call 323-840-1333.
  • Homeboy Industries
    Ongoing volunteer roles include tutoring, tattoo removal and pro bono therapy. For more information, call 323-526-1254.
  • One Generation
    Volunteers are needed in the San Fernando Valley to help with programs and services focused on older adults, including meal delivery, food pantry and farmers market book booth. For more information, call 818-708-6668.
  • Spy-Safe Place for Youth
    Volunteer in many ways, including gardening and building a playground in Venice. Remote volunteer roles include preparing resource kits, such as hygiene kits, food packs, safer sex kits, education and employment kits, and healing arts kits.
